Disappointment for Jessica Clarke in Irish U18 final

There was disappointment for Jessica Clarke of Carndonagh ABC in last night’s National U18 51 kgs final.

Clarke lost out to Immaculata, Belfast puncher Caitlin Fryers, last year’s World Youth bronze medallist.

Fryers has had the edge on the Carndonagh woman of late having beaten her in last year’s Irish Junior 2 final.

And last night at the National Stadium in Dublin, it was Fryers who took the 4-1 decision from the judges.

Fryers will also compete next month at the World Championships in Hungary.
