Delight as Lifford schoolboy wins gold at Belgium Open

A DONEGAL schoolboy was crowned Belgium Open Karate Champion this weekend.

Eoin Crawford, from the Three Rivers Shotokan Karate Club in Lifford returned with a gold medal.

Eoin, who hails from Murlog, won the Under-10 +35kgs section in the Hall Omnisport ‘LA Préalle’ in Herstal, Belgium.

A pupil at St Patrick’s NS in Murlog, Eoin topped the pile to secure a superb gold medal.

Hayron Hauwen from Belgium’ Hauwen Karate Club was second while another Belgian, Gilles Boschmans from Karate Club Kachi was third.
