Damien McNulty ruled out of Finn Harps’ trip to Shamrock Rovers

Damien McNulty will be absent tomorrow when Finn Harps head to Tallaght Stadium to face stuttering Shamrock Rovers.

McNulty limped out of last Saturday’s derby win over Sligo Rovers with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of the trip to the capital.

Harps boss Ollie Horgan also has serious question marks over the participation of Paddy McCourt and Barry Molloy through ankle and calf ailments.

Harps are seeking to extend their unbeaten sequence to five games when they face Stephen Bradley’s Rovers, who have lost four of their opening six games.

Rovers have been beaten 2-1 in each of their last two outings, against Cork City and St Patrick’s Athletic.

Despite Harps having climbed to sixth with the 2-1 triumph against Sligo, Horgan is cautious as he readies his men for Tallaght.

“The Shamrock Rovers players will be under huge pressure to get a win against us. Even though they are behind us in the table at the moment they will still see Finn Harps as a very big chance for three points” Horgan said.

And although eight points from their first six games represents a fine start for Harps, Horgan warned: “There is a long way to go with 27 matches still to be played.

“It’s good to have eight points on the board but we have to keep the momentum going and it starts with trying to take something home from Tallaght, which will be a huge challenge for us.”

Rovers will be without the suspended Sean Heaney for the game.
