Crossan wins Jingle Bells 5k in Glenties – full results here

Darragh Crossan, Foyle Valley AC, won today’s Jingle Bells 5k hosted by Tir Chonaill AC in Glenties.

Raphoe native Crossan won in 16 minutes and 47 seconds following a tough battle with Garreth McCullagh of Lifford-Strabane AC, who finished in 16:52

North Leitrim’s Marcus McGowan, 16:58, filled third overall position.

Clare Quinn, in 22:11, from Tir Chonaill AC, won the women’s section from club mates Jackie Harvey and Sharon McGowan.

Prior to the presentation of category and spot prizes, on behalf of the organiser’s Eamon Harvey, thanked all that came and supported, walked and ran, the local organising committee, led by Marita Ward and Andrea McMenamin, All Sports Donegal Town and locals and club members that donated valuable prizes.

The proceeds from the event amounting to a four figure sum will go towards the’ Micky Joe – the long road fund’
