Cranford AC juveniles shine at Cross-Country in Carndonagh

On what was a dry warm day, with a flat fast course, Cranford athletes travelled to Carndonagh, to Compete in the masters and even ages Donegal Championships.

First up was Bridie Trearty in the master ladies. This was Bridie first run out in a few years and had a great race ending up in seventh overall and second in her age group, good to see her back.

Next up was our Under-8 boys with very fine performances from Michael Moore and Diarmuid Gallagher, Michael getting our first Gold of the day closely followed by Dearmuid in seventh place.

Our Under-10 boys kept the gold medals coming with Caolan mc Fadden winning his race followed by his team mates Ryan Mc Menamin ,Caolan Curran, and Aidan Mc Fadden these boys got first team in this event.

Our Under-10 girls all ran well, Clodagh Neely led the team home in 10th place followed closely by Emma Mc Cann, Aoihhean Mc Ginley, Eimear Breen, and Blathnaid Gallagher.

Next up were our girls Under-12, we were well represented at this age group, Caitlin O Hara led this team home, followed by Sophie Curran, Nazara Mc Fadden, Ciara Donnelly, Caoimhe Neely, Orla Neely, Aoife Giles, Caoimhe Brown and Teresa Mullan.

There was more medals for our Under-12 Boys, with some very fine individual performances with four of the Cranford team in the first 10, Oisin Kelly ran a very strong race claiming gold, Max Roarty took home a bronze medal, Liam Donnelly sevnth and Cian Mc Menamin eighth followed closely by Oran Mc Menamin, Johnny Trearty, and Connor Neely. This team got our second team gold of the day.

Molly Trearty and Hannah Logue were our girls Under-14 Molly had a great run finishing in 4th place with Hannah finishing well up the field. Our boys Under-14 were led home by Eoin Moore, Allan Neely, Barry Donnelly and Killian Browne.

Rionach Giles finished in the top 10 in the girls Under-16 and Ciara Murray ran in the girls Under-18. Well done Girls.

Our Boys Under-18, ran very well finishing well up the field with Kevin Logue finishing 2nd and Eoin Kelly coming in sixth place.

A huge congrats to all the young and not so young Cranford AC athletes, who competed last wend in Carndonagh. Well done to Michael Moore, Caolan Mc Fadden and Oisin Kelly who won their respective age group race.

Thanks to  all the parents and to the coaches Eamon Giles, Joe Boyce who travelled on the day and to all the coaches for their continued support.

Next up is the uneven age groups this week end in Finn Valley.
