Cranford AC: Full results from Donegal Uneven Championship and Novice in Kincaslslagh

The Donegal Uneven Championship and Novice took place in Mullaghderg Kincaslslagh hosted by Rosses AC, with great weather it was ideal running conditions.

Dymphna Gallagher made her come back in the Novice, the first race of the day, with a good strong run finishing well up the field.

Our U9 took to the track next with very good running from these young athletes and ones to watch in the future, Aimee Bassett lead the girls home in 16th place Olivia Curran 21st and Niamh Mc Geever 24th.

Our u9 boys were up next over this 800m race the boys went out well and with Lorcan Boyce leading the boys home in 26th Ben McGee in 28th Oisin McBride 30th Faolan Caldwell 34th Adam Murray 35th making his first appearance for Cranford AC and Rory Boyce 36th.

Next up were our U11’s girls where we had five girls take to the starting line and with Cliodhna McBride getting a great start and leading from the start there was no stopping her, Cliodhna getting a well deserved Gold medal and crowned Donegal Champion, her teammates followed with Karen Neely, Sadie McGettigan, Emma McGee, and Beth McClafferty.

These girls team were placed fourth overall well-done Girls. Next up were our boys U11 – Luke Murray had a fine performance coming home in 41st Ethan Henderson 42nd and closely followed by Killian Caldwell in 43rd.

Our U13 girls were all ready to go next over the 2,000m race with Miah Fletcher in great form and showed this as she led the race from start to finish and crowned Cranfords second Donegal Champion of the day, Miah teammates packed well in behind her all running very well with Ellie McFadden in 11th Jemma Murray making her debut for Cranford with a very impressive 12th place, Amy Cullen had a very good sprint finish in 14th place and followed closely by Mevagh Mc Bride, these girls put in a great team effort and was rewarded by team silver.

Our U13 boys were up next and did not disappoint with great performances from our boys Caolan McFadden coming off his great run last week he went from the start and powered around the course leaving everyone in no doubt who was going to run out the winner.

It was great to see Daithi Cannon and Diarmuid Gallagher back again who came 25th and 27th respectively.

Next up were our U15 girls who ran 3k. They were lead home by Clodagh Neely in an impressive 8th place followed closely by Jessica Cullen 10th, Orla Neely 13th and Blathnaid Gallagher in 14th place – these girls all ran very well and earned themselves a well-deserved silver team medal. Eoin Friel was our only U15 boy and had a fine run coming home in 12th place.

Final race of the day for Cranford was the Boys U17 where we had Oisin Kelly and Oran McMenamin, the boys dug deep and kept in contention throughout the 4K race, Oisin came home in 5th place followed by Oran in 16th. Well done boys.
Well done to everyone and we now look forward to the Ulsters on the 26th October in Greenmount Co Antrim.


Thanks to our coaches and to all the parents who travelled and helped out on the day. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday.
