Covid-19 forces a new date for Donegal GAA’s bumper house draw

DONEGAL GAA’s major ‘Win Your House In Dublin’ fundraiser has been pushed back until December.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 emergency, organisers have postponed the draw – which was due to take place on May 9 –  until December.

The sub-committee held a meeting remotely on Friday evening and decided to reschedule the draw until December 4 at the Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town.

“The decision was taken that it was just not possible in the current climate to have the draw on the 9th of May,” a circular to the county’s clubs says.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support of the draw to this point, it has been great to see the support for Donegal GAA in this draw.”

Donegal GAA are aiming to sell 15,000 of the €100 tickets with funds going towards the completion of the Donegal GAA Training Centre in Convoy.

Top prize is a house, at Brownsbarn adjacent to Citywest – a newly built house to the latest energy efficiency standards and is valued at around €400,000.

There are also four other prizes including a new Mazda 2, a week’s holiday, €1,000 cash and a night’s B&B in Carton House with a round of golf for 2.

Ticket sales have been very strong to this point, organisers say.

The online platform at www.winyourhouseindublin.com will continue to be open and hard copy can continue to be sold. Advertising, Facebook promotions etc will be halted in the short term until the current restrictions are eased.
