Clubman Shirts League Cup groups conclude as Inishowen League reserve season gets underway

THE Clubman Shirts League Cup action continues when the group stages finish on Friday night and the quarter finalists will be known.

Group A looks to be as predicted with Illies and Aileach (pictured above) clashing. Both are through already with Illies needing the win to secure top spot in the group.

Group B is a bit tighter and the clash of Buncrana and Carn is crucial with Clonmany already having secured top spot.

Victory for Buncrana would put them through with Carn hoping to defeat Hearts and would also need Redcastle to upset the odds with a win against Clonmany.

In group C Culdaff and QPS meet at Muff and again the chances are that both teams will be through to the quarter finals.

The intriguing group is Group D where the opening draw between Moville and Glengad means that the meeting of Moville and Greencastle is the big one.

Donegal Signs Reserve League Shield gets underway

THE reserve season kicks of this Friday night with the three five-team groups beginning their campaigns.

In group A, Rasheney Reserves and Illies Resrves will be favourites to advance as they are the only Premier reserve teams in the group but Carrowmena and Greencastle are capable of causing an upset.

Group B is probably the toughest group with Moville Resrves, QPS Resrves, Clonmany Resrves, Sea Rovers and Culdaff all in action and Moville will be the favourites but the second spot could go to any of the other four.

Group C sees Carn Resrves, Cockhill Colts, Gleneely Colts, Redcastle Resrves and Aileach Resrves all in contention.

Aileach are challengers every season at this level and, as holders, will expect to advance but the second spot could rest between Gleneely and Cockhill Colts.

The four team group in group D sees Aileach Youths, Buncrana Resrves, Dunree Resrves and Glengad Resrves in opposition. Glengad will be favourites here with Buncrana fancied to claim the runners up spot.
