THERE WERE 22 goals across just three matches in the Charlie O’Donnell Cup last night in Inishowen.

Stephen Parkhouse’s tenure as the Buncrana Hearts manager could hardly have got off to a better start.

At Maginn Park, Buncrana defeated First Division Carrowmena 8-0. Parkhouse, the former Finn Harps, Derry City and Institute player, has taken over at Buncrana, who began the new season without a manager.

Last night, Stephen McHugh netted twice while Alan Friel, Declan Fullerton, Calvin Gallagher, Adam Duffy and Liam McCarron were all on target as the Hearts scored a comprehensive win.

Culdaff bounced back from the disappointment of Sunday’s 9-1 League defeat by Glengad United as they took the edge in a pulsating nine-goal game against QPS at Glenview.

Michael Coyle’s hat-trick, the third of them coming in injury time, saw Culdaff defeat The Point 5-4.

QPS are now under Sean McCabe’s management and they showed fine spirit. With Coyle (2), William Hutchison and Benny Fildara on target, Culdaff led 4-1 at a stage.
