Carndonagh ABC boxer Jessica Clarke heads for Switzerland for an international bout to kick-start her 2017 campaign.
A two-time Irish champion, Clarke travels to Frenkendorf, Switzerland as part of a St Brigid’s, Edenderry selection, having been chosen by coach Liam Brereton.
Clarke is up against Elaina Pileggi, Switzerland’s youth champion at 48kgs.
“I’m really excited for it – it’s a great opportunity for me before my Championships all start,” Clarke told Donegal Sport Hub.
The bout takes place next Saturday, February 18.
Brereton said: “I chose Jessica because of her displays at sparring camps and because of her showing against France last year. She was an obvious choice given that she’s a youth this year.”
