BUNCRANA HEARTS have appointed former Finn Harps striker Stephen Parkhouse as their new manager, the club has confirmed.

Parkhouse scored 16 goals in 43 appearances for Harps in 2007 when, under Paul Hegarty’s management, they won promotion to the Premier Division via the play-offs.

Parkhouse played for Harps again in 2008 in the top flight.
Parkhouse has most recently been involved as an underage coach with Maiden City having also played for Derry City and Institute.

Buncrana have been playing under the temporary charge of Gary Duffy since the start of the new Inishowen League season.

Parkhouse’s appointment follows weeks of speculation linking the Derry native to the post.

A statement on the Buncrana Hearts Facebook page said: “The club are delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Parkhouse as the clubs new senior manager and Colin Logue as his assistant with immediate effect. Their first game in charge will be on Wednesday night in the Charlie O’Donnell cup against Carrowmena in Maginn Park. We wish them every success as they begin their tenure.”
