Brennan set to hand Bundoran a boost ahead of Ulster final

JAMIE BRENNAN IS EXPECTED to be declared fit for Sunday’s Ulster Intermediate final as Bundoran face Loughinisland (Owenbeg, 2.30pm).

The Donegal Under-21 player hasn’t featured for Bundorna since he was withdrawn in the first half of the Donegal IFC final last month.

Brennan (picture above courtesy of Evan Logan) had scored 1-1 before a hamstring injury forced his departure from the facile win over Naomh Colmcille in Letterkenny.

However, the pacey attacker is likely to be given the green light on Sunday to face the Down side, who are led by Dan Gordon.

Bundoran manager Brian Gavigan expects that he will have a full panel from which to select his team.

Since beating Naomh Colmcille, Bundoran have beane Clann Eireann and Glenavy to reach the final.

At Fr Tierney Park in the quarter-final, they needed extra time to see off Clann Eireann 0-14 to 1-9, while they overcame Glenavy 1-12 to 1-7 at Pairc Esler in the semi-final, with Christy Keaney’s injury time goal putting a gloss on the scoreline.

The anticipated return of Brennan will serve as a major boost to the Bundoran hopes.
