Bonagee United look for some capital gains in Finglas

BONAGEE UNITED FLY the Donegal flag in the WFAI Intermediate Shield this afternoon.

Seamy McGinty’s team (pictured above before their departure) face Finglas United at Larney Park in Dublin (kick-off 2pm) in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Bonagee have had some injury difficulties of late with Chantelle Grant a long-term absentee after sustaining a cruciate knee ligament injury against Lagan Harps in the Donegal Women’s League earlier in the season.

Midfielder Anna Doherty is a big doubt for the Dry Arch Park representatives. During a Foyle Cup win against Foyle Belles, Doherty picked up a knee injury that has her in a race against the clock.

Bonagee overcame Finn Valley 6-0 in the League on Tuesday night after a gruelling week in the Foyle Cup and following an Ulster Cup reversal against Illies Celtic last Sunday.

Bonagee are in pursuit of leaders and holders Lagan Harps in the League and this Tuesday night face Glenree United in the semi-final of the Glencar Inn Cup.

First, though, advancement to the semi-finals of the national competition is the carrot before them this afternoon in the capital.
