Ballyraine FC will be celebrating its 40 years anniversary next month.

Two of the club stalwarts, Andy O’Boyle and Charlie Shiels (pictured), have been called out of retirement and charged with coordinating a weekend of celebrations and what a line up they have in store.

This celebration will take place on the weekend of the 16th, 17th and 18th August 2019.

Friday 16th August
A Memorial Mass for deceased members of the Ballyraine F.C. will take place at 7pm in the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine.

Saturday 17th August
A feast of football fun at the Errigal College pitch (the adopted home of the current Ballyraine FC teams).  A 7-a-side competition involving teams (over 16s) from the four decades of the club’s existence with novelty competition for families (wives, sons, daughters etc.).

The presentation of prizes and post mortem of the day’s games will take place at Arena 7 that evening 8pm. We would wish to see members from as many teams as possible attend.

Sunday 18th August
An open stableford competition for club members, families and friends at Letterkenny Golf Club (times to be confirmed). Presentation of prizes at the Golf Club (time to be confirmed).

The club is calling on all past players who played with Ballyraine FC in the following years to come along and join in the festivities
(1) 1979 to 1988
(2) 1989 to 1998
(3) 1999 to 2008 and
(4) 2009 to present

CAN YOU HELP?

Yes you can by joining the 40 Years celebrations sub-committee under Andy O’Boyle (086) 229 4995 or Charlie Shiels (086) 896 2709 to help in co-ordinating the various events. Former players are asked to contact members of your former team with a view to participating on the day.

This is a great opportunity for former players to meet up with old friends and team mates. Its success depends on members support.  It promises to be a great weekend.
