Lagan Harps and Finn Valley recorded away wins in the Terry Leyden Under-14 League on Wednesday night.

Bonagee United 0 Lagan Harps 6

Lagan Harps Under-14s continue to chase Illistrin FC in the Terry Leyden Under-14 League thanks to a convincing win on Wednesday evening over Bonagee United.

In a hard-fought first half Maria Bonner scored twice; the first from great work on right by Lucy Canning and Orla McGrath; and the second when Niamh Monaghan defended well with Clodagh Sweeney picking up the loose ball and running through to deliver a pin-point pass to Maria.

Bonagee continued to defend strongly and it was 15 minutes into second half before Jessica Leese made it three after Maria Bonner turned provided.

Jessica extended the lead three minutes later when Sinead Deasley broke down a Bonagee attack and sent a long ball over top of defenders for her to run onto.

Rhianna Devenney made it five when she ran onto a short kick out by the Bonagee keeper.

Erin Doherty created space on the left side before slotting Gaby O’Donnell in to finish the scoring for the night.

Not forgetting Courtney Gallagher who made two fabulous saves one in first half after Grace Murphy ran through on goal and the second in the second half when Hannah Hopkins raced through for a one-on-one

Raphoe Town 2 Finn Valley 5

The first 15 minutes of this encounter were very quiet but Raphoe had slightly the better of things early on with Shania McMonagle unlucky on a few occasions.

However midway through the half Valley went ahead and immediately came back and scored a second. It got worse for Raphoe when just before half time Valley got penalty leaving it three-nil.

Raphoe battled  hard in second half with Shania McMonagle getting on end of some super passes from Alannah Kee.

From one of those passes McMonagle brilliantly slotted  home and Raphoe picked up another gear to see Shania McMonagle score again.

However as the half wore on Valley came back to hit the net again and that took the wind from the Raphoe sails.

The visitors wrapped things up with a late goal just before the end.

Finn Valley scorers were Rebecca McColgan (2), Cody Walsh and Brenda Carr (2).

The referee gave Shania McMonagle player of match as she fought for everything and her first goal was taken very well.
