Audio: Richard Tinney wants Raphoe ladies to make a Premier push

RICHARD TINNEY HAS no reason to doubt that his Raphoe ladies side can’t make a push for the Premier League this season.

As the campaign heads for the finishing line, Raphoe are in fifth place, but have games in hand on all the teams above them. They are only eight points off the second-placed side, Knock, with six games less played.

Last Friday night, Raphoe came back from a goal down twice as Kimberly Porter and Leanne Patterson netted in a 2-2 draw with Rainey.

They’re back in action this Friday at the Royal and Prior School Grounds when they host fourth-placed Ballymena.

“I’m proud of my girls, they battled very hard,” Tinney said of Friday’s draw.

“We battled back and we could have nicked it. There was great fight in our team. They don’t lie down.

“For us to be going up and fighting to get into the Premiership is brilliant.”
