LETTERKENNY INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY travel to IT Sligo this week safe in the knowledge their place in the quarter-finals of the CFAI Colleges and Universities League Division 1 is already assured.

They sealed their passage on Wednesday last with a 2-1 win over IT Blanchardstown, which brought LyIT onto nine points from four outings. Wednesday sees Shane Byrne’s team round off their Group A fixtures, kicking off at 2pm.

“It was good to get the winner,” Paul McVeigh said after last week’s win. “Both teams had chances. To a man we played some good football and that’s good to take into the next game.”
