Audio: Naomh Conaill manager Martin Regan hails impact of subs after ‘massive’ win over St Eunan’s

MARTIN REGAN ADMITS THAT he thought Lady Luck had donned the St Eunan’s colours in today’s county final.

Regan’s Naomh Conaill were two points down when they had Eoghan McGettigan sent off – immediately after he was introduced as a substitute – and captain Leo McLoone saw a goal ruled out.

Just when it seemed as if fortune deserted them, they caught fire, led by McLoone and aided by replacements like the ageless Johnny McLoone and the exuberant Ethan O’Donnell.

“Just to see it over the line at the end is massive. Massive,” the Naomh Conaill manager told Donegal Sport Hub after their 0-11 to 0-10 win.

“Things seemed to be going against us and I thought that the luck wasn’t with us. It changed and boys coming off the bench were huge. They really lifted things.”
