DAMIEN Devenney has been fighting the numbers game ever since he took over as the Na Rossa manager at the start of the year.

The area has been decimated by emigration, but Devenney has managed to steer Na Rossa to stability in Division 4 and on Saturday the Dooey men defeated Naomh Padraig, Lifford to book their place in the Junior Championship semi-finals.

“We are all the time fighting against the elements,” Devenney told Donegal Sport Hub.

“They’ve lost a serious amount of men to emigration. Two lads came home this weekend and we’ll need to get them back next weejend again.

“They’re a great bunch of lads.”

Na Rossa trailed 0-6 to 0-4 at half-time, but Odhrán Molloy’s second-half goal helped to spur them for a win.

Devenney said: “We’re delighted. We made hard work if it

“We asked the boys at half-time if they wanted to be out in training on Tuesday or if they wanted to leave it at that. Thankfully they came out with a serious performance.

“We asked questions and they responded perfectly.”
