Audio: Maxi Curran offers no excuses as St Eunan’s relinquish hold of Dr Maguire

MAXI CURRAN didn’t event look for excuses after St Eunan’s relinquished their Donegal SFC title against Naomh Conaill.

The Dr Maguire holders and the title favourites again, St Eunan’s (pictured above courtesy of Evan Logan) were beaten by Naomh Conaill 0-11 to 0-10 at Sean MacCumhaill Park in yesterday’s final.

Eunan’s led 0-7 to 0-6 at half-time, but couldn’t shake Naomh Conaill off.

“We weren’t good enough on the day. We have no-one to blame but ourselves,” Curran told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We had plenty of opportunities to get something out of the game, even a draw.

“We had a couple of very good chances when we were 0-8 to 0-6 up. We had too many wides and that’s what cost us in the end.”
