PATIENCE is a virtue they say.
At the IAAF World Championships in Beijing this morning, Mark English from Letterkenny finished in fifth place in his 800m heat in a time of 1:46.69.
The UCD medical student (pictured above courtesy of @LudvigHolmberg) had to wait until the conclusion of the other heats before learning his fate but can plan ahead now to Sunday’s semi-final.
“I was there to run a fast a time as I can,” English said afterwards. “It’s my first time in a world semi-final so I’m going to enjoy it. That’s all I’m looking at. I’m delighted. I’m looking forward to tomorrow and going out and giving it a bang.”
