Audio: Mark Cannon left to curse St Columba’s loss of discipline

MARK CANNON SAYS discipline let St Columba’s down in Thursday’s Donegal Senior A Vocational Schoold Championship clash against Rosses Community School.

The Stranorlar students were 0-9 to 0-3 ahead, but two late points by Barry Curran secured a win for Rosses.

Red cards were given to Odhran Doherty and Aodhfin McGlynn in the first half and, as the game progressed, Rosses chipped away at the deficit before getting their noses ahead late in the game.

“The 13 men, I couldn’t be prouder of them – they fought tooth and nail,” Cannon told Donegal Sport Hub.

“It comes down to decision making, not just with discipline, but also with chances and passes in front of goal. That cost us.

“If you’re playing with 13 men for 40 minutes of a match, you can’t expect to win a football match.”
