SHANE BYRNE was delighted with a resilient Letterkenny Institute of Technology side who overcame IT Tallaght 1-0 in yesterday’s CUFL quarter-final at the Port Road campus.

Paul McVeigh’s first-half goal fired the Letterkenny students into the semi-finals.
“I thought that we played very well,” said Byrne, who is in his first term at the helm.

“They didn’t cause us any bother. We bossed the game.

“We have a lot of first years on the panel which is great for us looking ahead to next year and the year after.”
