LAGAN HARPS CAPTAIN GLENN GALLAGHER says their title win was the result of a season-long slog.

Gallagher and Lagan picked up the Temple Domestic Aplliances Division 1 title today thanks to a hard-fought 2-0 win over Kerrykeel 71 Club at Rabs Park.

The win saw them eke out top spot ahead of Donegal Town and Convoy Arsenal, who both still had a chance of winning the League going into today’s final round of games.

However, Mark Hunter’s two goals sank Kerrykeel and fired Lagan to glory.

“It’s a great day for us,” Gallagher beamed afterwards.

“We’ve worked hard all year and it’s good to get the reward at the end of it. As a team, everyone put in the good effort.

“We panicked in the first half and it didn’t work out for us. We regrouped at half-time and got at it straight away. We’re just glad to get over the line.

“We didn’t come out of the blocks in the first half, but we got at them in the second half. The chances couldn’t fall to a better man than Mark.”
