FRANCIE MARTIN CUT a relieved figure in a howling Convoy gale on Friday night after watching his Naomh Colmcille overcome Carndonagh in a relegation-promotion play-off.
Goals by Willie Gillespie and Ryan McKinley ensured that Naomh Colmcille had enough to spare by the time Carndonagh launched a late salvo and got a goal themselves through Pauric Doherty.
“It is very important for us to stay in Division 3,” Martin said after a season in which his team belied their lowly League position by reaching the final of the Intermediate Championship.
