Audio: Donegal’s Hugh McFadden looks to up the gears ahead of League

HUGH MCFADDEN says Donegal will go up the gears over the next fortnight ahead of their January 30 Allianz League opener against Down in Newry.

Tonight’s 0-12 to 0-8 defeat by Fermanagh confirmed Donegal’s exit from the Dr McKenna Cup and it’s behind-closed-doors for Rory Gallagher’s men between now and their trip to Newry.

“It was a real pre-season feel there and it took a lot of boys time to gel and the basic skill level wasn’t too high there,” McFadden told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We’ll take positive things from the first three games into the League. A lot of us are trying to push on a gear.”
