Audio: Delight for Dunleavy as MacCumhaills defeat Killybegs

BRENDAN DUNLEAVY ASKED his Sean MacCumhaills players to be ‘counted’ in the relegation play-off against Killybegs – and they did just that.

MacCumhaills ensured that they’ll play in the 2016 Donegal senior football championship after a nervy 3-12 to 1-16 win over the Fishermen.
It took a late, late goal by Stephen Mulligan to seal victory from a pulsating play-off in Donegal town.

While Killybegs must now face into another play-off, MacCumhaills have secured their senior spot for next year.

“Our boys stood up when it really mattered,” Dunleavy told Donegal Sport Hub.

“We gave away a bad goal and the Killybegs wave was coming on top of us. Thank God we scraped through. The boys realluy dug in. We asked the boys to be counted – and they were.

“We’re absolutely thrilled and it’s nothing less than the lads deserve because I believe that they’re senior footballers.”
