CIARAN COLL HAILED a ‘brilliant three points’ on Friday night as Finn Harps overcame Longford Town at the City Calling Stadium.

Josh Mailey and Tony McNamee netted goals in either half as Harps won away for the first time in 2016.

It was back-to-back wins for Harps for the first time this season.

“It’s a brilliant three points, especially coming up here,” Coll told Donegal Sport Hub.

“It’s a great three points after the break.

“It was one of them games if we had to hold on and grind out a draw we’d do that but we’re delighted to get the win.

“The main thing for us in the clean sheet.”

Coll is the wearer of the captain’s armband at Harps these days and echoed the comments of his manager when asked about the 12-point gap that now stands between Harps and the foot of the table.

The St Johnston man said: “Football is a funny game. You could look at it in a few weeks time and the gap could close. We just have to keep that gap there now.

“Training is brilliant. Everyone is fighting for their place. You never know the team. The competition is brilliant in there. Everyone is dying to get the jersey.”
