BRENDAN MCDYER RECOVERED FROM a knee injury just in time to aid Naomh Conaill in yesterday’s Donegal SFC final against St Eunan’s.

McDyer sustained a medial knee ligament injury in August when Naomh Conaill defeated St Eunan’s by ten points in the group stage of the Championship.

He missed their subsequent three Championship encounters against Ardara, Termon and Kilcar, but the 28-year-old was back in the starting XV yesterday and contributed two points in the 0-11 to 0-10 win.

The road to recovery wasn’t exactly easy.

“I was off work for a month and I had rehab three times a day every day of the week,” McDyer told Alan Foley of Donegal Sport Hub.

“It’s only been in the last ten days that I’ve been up to speed in full training. I was delighted to get out there and add something.

“For the last couple of years we were sitting at home licking our wounds and thinking about what could have been so it’s nice to be on the inside looking out this year.”
