MILFORD WERE DENIED a place in the final of the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Tír Chonaill for the first time as Ardara came good in the second half of today’s semi-final.

Ardara 0-15 Milford 0-9

The side from Moyle View Park had already scalped Gaoth Dobhair and Termon in the competition this spring and were handily enough placed at half-time at Davy Brennan Memorial Park this afternoon against last year’s hosts Ardara.

Milford were 0-6 to 0-5 up at the break as Darragh and Kyle Black hit two points each, while Gary Merritt and Luke Barrett scored as well. Danny O’Donnell’s side had opportunities with the wind to extend that lead further but Ardara held in.

In all, the side from Kentucky had 10 different point scorers and that stood to them in the end.

In the second half, Tomás Boyle put Ardara ahead on 40 minutes and they pressed on from there. Peter McHugh Johnny and Kevin Herron,  Gareth Concarr, Ryan Malley and Kenneth Doherty all landed points in the closing stages.
