Aodh Ruadh moved five points clear at the top of Division Two in the All-County League this afternoon.

Glenfin 1-10 Aodh Ruadh 2-13

The Ballyshannon men had too much for Glenfin at Pairc Taobhoige and the Ernesiders have a five-point buffer to Cloughaneely and Ardara, with Aodh Ruadh now surely poised to return to the top flight again.

They led 0-6 to 0-4 at the break, with Philip Patton – who top-scored with seven points – on the mark with three scores for the visitors.

In the opening seconds of the second half, Stephen Ward surged in to fire home a Glenfin goal.

However, Seamus Kane and Johnny Gethins bagged goals for Aodh Ruadh, who took a big step towards promotion with this win.

Scorers – Glenfin: Stephen Ward 1-1, Stephen Carr 0-3 (3f), Jason Morrow 0-2, Frank McGlynn, John Harkin, Daniel McGlynn 0-1 each

Aodh Ruadh: Philip Patton 0-7 (5f), Johnny Gethins, Seamus Kane 1-0 each, David Dolan, Shane McGrath, Michael ‘Sticky’ Ward 0-2 each.
