ANN-MARIE MCGLYNN won the women’s 8k race at the Autumn Open Cross Country at the Phoenix Park today.
The Letterkenny AC woman has returned from injury at just the right time as she aims to get back in the Irish vest for the 2015 European Cross Country in December.
Last year, McGlynn was captain of the Irish women’s team that won bronze in Bulgaria and she wants to get back on the team for this year’s event in Hyères–Toulon, France.
Trials for the 2015 European Cross Country Championships will be held at the end of November.
This afternoon, McGlynn turned in a fine performance to win in a time of 29:24 and finish ahead of Shona Heaslip (An Riocht) and Teresa Doherty (Finn Valley).
