DONEGAL GAA’s Competitions Controls Committee (CCC) are exploring the option of extending the All-County League season by two weeks.

With nine games scheduled for this weekend having been called off, the burden of backlog games is increasing significantly.

A statement said: “Of necessity, the CCC will now looking at moving the end of the league out by up to two weeks – e.g. by using the August Bank Holiday weekend for catch-up games and moving rounds 8 and 9 to the weekends beginning 6th and 13th of August.

“Clubs will be kept informed as soon as decisions are formalised.”

The Senior Hurling League game between Aodh Ruadh and Carndonagh and the Division 5 South fixture between Ardara and Four Masters have been called off this evening.

Seven games that were down for decision tomorrow have also been shelved.

They include the Division 2 and Division 2B games between Termon and St Naul’s; the Division 3 and Division 3B clashes of Naomh Brid v Red Hughs and Four Masters v Buncrana.

The Division 4 meeting of Pettigo and Naomh Padraig, Lifford, has been postponed.
