THE COMMUNITY in Convoy came together this morning for a Children’s Christmas 3k run run and walk, involving almost 200 children.
The event was organised by Convoy AC in conjunction with the two national schools – Scoil Bhríde and Convoy Joint NS – in the village.
The event was organised to help promote fitness and good health.
“We are a mixed community and we thought it would be fun to get children and parents together and do a festive 3k,” one of the organisers said.
Convoy was painted Hi Vis yellow and Santa red as the community spirit of Convoy shone through.
Parents, grandparents and other family members joined with the children and Santa Claus himself made an appearance to present the medals at St Mary’s Hall, where refreshments were served.
