AIDAN O’SHEA is one of Donegal’s biggest rivals on the Gaelic football field – but tomorrow evening the Mayoman will be looking to win on a basketball court in Donegal.

O’Shea will line out for EJ Sligo All-Stars against LYIT Donegal at An Dánlann on the Letterkenny Institite of Technology campus in a derby game in the North Conference of the Men’s Division 1 in the National Basketball League.

O’Shea has been in fine form for EJ Sligo All-Stars. Since joining their ranks, the Sligo side have won five games on the trot.

LYIT Donegal lost out to Neptune last weekend in a Cup quarter-final, but have recorded three wins so far this season, including last minute successes against Dublin Lions and the Titans.

Jimmy Puha tucked in for the win over Dublin Lions with T John Casiello beating the buzzer in the clash with the Titans.

Niall McDermott, who is the North-West Regional Development Officer of Basketball Ireland, is the head coach of the LYIT Donegal side.

There is a strong Donegal representation in the squad with Zak Balogun, Rahman Balogun, Paul McHugh, Mark Cannon, Stephen Cannon, Michael Leadley and David Whoriskey all included in the panel.

The LYIT Donegal team also includes American’s Casiello and Jack Mackey who are studying in LyIT as part of the Sport Changes Life programme.

Tip off at An Dánlann is at 4pm
