Letterkenny 24/7’s Paul Doherty wins remembrance 10k at Finn Valley

Congrats to all club members who took part in the Remembrance 10k on Sunday.

The annual race had over 500 entrants despite the wintry conditions. The club had a great turnout and the lovely flat course ensured competitors posted some brilliant times.

Paul Doherty was the overall winner in a time of 36:40.  This was Paul’s first ever podium finish and he was delighted his hard work and dedication to his training paid off!

Paul Doherty wins Remembrance 10k

Peter O’ Donnell was seventh in a time of 38:25 while Paddy McGee also posted a sub 40 minute time fresh from his Sea to Summit adventures last weekend. Natasha Kelly was the first 24/7 woman home, second woman overall, in an impressive PB of 40:53, showing her cross country training has served her well.  Liam Tinney also finished with a PB in a time of 42:47.

There was also excellent runs from Stephen Robinson, Lisa Dalton, Seamus Morrison and Terence Quinn. Well done to everyone who raced, it was great to see so many 24/7 members racing in the last 10k of the season.

Club Turbo Sessions

Club turbo sessions will begin this Sunday at Speer Performance at 9am.

Anyone that has requested the use of club turbos will be notified when these are available.

Get well wishes

The club would like to extend get well wishes and a speedy recovery to Andrea McGettigan after her recent accident.

Club Christmas Party

The club Christmas party and presentation night will be held in Arena 7 at 8pm on Friday 2nd December. Tickets are available at club swim sessions or from committee members.

Club Training

Club training continues as follows:

Tuesday:  Track session- 7.45pm

Wednesday: Swim session- Advanced 7-8pm, Intermediate/ Beginners 8-9pm

Thursday: Long Run session leaves from Aura at 6.30pm

Saturday: Club cycle leaves from Aura at 8am

Sunday: Turbo Sessions at Speer Performance 9am
