THE OUTGOING Republic of Ireland women’s senior team manager, Sue Ronan, will be in Donegal on Saturday-week as the special guest at the Inishowen Ladies League’s annual awards function.

The Dubliner, who is to step down from her role as Irish manager at the end of this month, will be the guest of honour of the Inishowen Ladies League at the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin.

Ronan will be in charge of the Girls in Green for the final time on November 26 for a friendly with Basque Country XI in Tallaght Stadium.

Ronan is leaving her post as Irish senior manager to take up the position of Head of Women’s Football with the FAI, a new role that has been created.

Ronan has been in charge of the Irish seniors for three qualifying campaigns now.

“We are delighted to have Sue Ronan coming as our special guest,” Fergus Hegarty, the secretary of the Inishowen Ladies League, said.

“She has huge standing in the women’s game and we are looking forward to having Sue here to address our young players.”

One of Ronan’s senior players, Roma McLaughlin, is a graduate of the Inishowen Ladies League, where she played with Greencastle FC before moving to Women’s National League side Peamount United.
