BUNCRANA MAN Gary Duffy will take over as Donegal GAA’s Children’s Officer for 2017.

Duffy is set to succeed Mick McGrath in the role. McGrath is nearing the end of the maximum five-year term in office and Duffy will fill the void from next month’s annual Convention.

Duffy does not need to be elected as the Children’s Officer post is a nomination from the County Board.

Duffy has been immersed in Donegal’s underage teams in recent years and has worked alongside minor managers Stephen Friel and Declan Bonner.

Duffy has managed at club level with his native Buncrana, as well as Burt and Steelstown in County Derry.
