DONEGAL’S RISING darts player Jordan Boyce is in line to win the chance to compete on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit in 2017.

The Newtowncunningham teenager, who was the World Youth finalist earlier this year, is in the final seven of a competition, in conjunction with sponsors Unicorn, with three players to win the contract.

The competition was announced this year when Unicorn’s sponsorship was agreed for a new term.

Unicorn have committed to sponsoring three players to enter the 2017 PDC Qualifying School and support them on the circuit next year – and Boyce is one of the final seven, vying for one of three spots.

The 17-year-old Deele College student is heading back to the Lakeside again later this month as he played in the Lakeside qualifiers on November 30 and in the Masters on December 1.

Back in January, Boyce was beaten 3-2 by Joshua Richardson from England in the World Youth final at the Lakeside, but he’s aiming to make the televised final again – but will have to go through the early rounds from the last 64 again.

In September, Boyce won the INDO National Youth Singles Championship in Clare as he toppled number 2 seed Killian Heffernan in the final.
