DONEGAL MOTOR CLUB members picked up awards last Saturday night in the Clayton Hotel, Galway.

At the Irish Tarmac Championship Rally awards function, several Donegal Motor Club members were the recipients of awards.

Kilmacrennan’s Paddy Robinson navigated David Guest to the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship’s Group N title.

The Guest-Robinson partnership had a superb year, right form the off at the Galway International Rally in February when they took Group N honours to set the tone for the season.

Marty Gallagher and Dean O’Sullivan had a fine year, too, and were second in their class, Class 2, in the Championship.

Gallagher and O’Sullivan will compete next month at the Rallye Waldviertel in Austria. They swapped the Fiesta for the Puegeot 208 this year and have gone from strength to strength.

In Class M1, Liam McIntyre was the winner of the class. Donegal town man McIntyre was another local competitor who was solid behind the wheel in 2016 and was in Galway to collect his accolade.

Dungloe’s John Bonner, with Leon Jordan on the notes, won Class M2 while Paddy McCrudden navigated John Reddington to third in Class M3.
