Donegal trio in Irish Women’s rugby squad ahead of November Series

THREE DONEGAL NATIVES are part of the Irish Women’s rugby squad, who take part in a two-day camp this weekend in Dublin.

Tom Tierney has named a 31-strong squad for the training camp as they prepare to play England, Canada and New Zealand in the Women’s November Series.

Scrum-half Larissa Muldoon from Cappry, Ballybofey, who currently plays for Railway Union in Wales is in and she is joined by Fahan native Nora Stapleton, the our-half with Old Belvedere and Leinster and second-row Katie Norris from Moville. Norris lines out for Blackrock and Leinster.

Ireland will play England at the UCD Bowl on Sunday, November 13, before taking on Canada six days later at the same venue. Then, on Sunday, November 27, New Zealand provide the opposition.

All the games are in preparation for the 2017 Six Nations and the World Cup, which will be held in Ireland – Dublin and Belfast – next August.
