With the shorter days arriving and the weather change, it was Eddie Margey [12], introducing his new set of Taylormade to Barnhill for the first time who tamed the Swilly breeze.
Despite double bogeys at 3rd and 9th holes, he still managed the outward nine for 20pts and repeated the scoring back to the clubhouse for an overall 40pts.

In runner-up spot was visitor Dave Hughes [18]who, despite ‘blanks’ at par five 2nd [ and 9th [Crivesmith] , returned a net level 36pts whilst relegating Ulster Cup team captain Eamon O’ Carroll [15] to third by virtue of B.O.T. Taking gross prize was Don Ponsonby [5] with 30pts gross. Congratulations to club Captain Ivan Fuery on his ‘ace’ at 13th.

Sunday 16th had one of our future club prodigies on the podium, junior member Lee Walsh [14] who, despite a double bogey at Hall Door [1st], answered with a birdie at par five 7th [The Isle] ,took the turn with 22pts on the scorecard and finished with 38pts for victory. The winner of the draw for the meal for two in Browns on the Green was Eunan McGarrigle.

Anne Condon, organizer of the social club’s Night at the Races, is looking for help for Race Night, Friday 28th October. We need more horses sold, members and friends to attend on the night and, if at all possible, sponsors for some of the races.
Race sponsorship is €100 and sponsor will be displayed on the Race Card and acknowledged at the event. Horses are €10 each. Browns on the Green will be providing snacks on the night.
Thank you in anticipation!
