JAMES FERRY’S GOAL was the big score in Falcarragh, where Naomh Muire defeated Cloughaneely.

Cloughaneely 0-11 Naomh Muire 1-9

In a tight contest at Pairc Naomh Fionnan, the visitors had the edge thanks largely to Ferry’s goal in the first half.

Although Cloughaneely were first on the scoreboard, with a point coming straight from throw-in from Shaun McGuire, it was Naomh Muire who dominated most of the first half scoring 1-5 to Cloughaneely’s three points.

The visitors held Cloughaneely scoreless for a period of 20 minutes.

Patrick Gillespie registered Naomh Muire’s first point in the second minute, with Darragh White, Sean Yank Boyle and Gillespie again adding to the tally.

Cloughaneely managed to find the posts from Ciaran Scanlon in the 21st minute, but this was quickly cancelled out by a Harry Harden point for the visitors.

A couple of minutes later the duo of James Ferry and Jack Boyle rounded the Cloughaneely defence allowing Ferry to find the back of the net.

The home side managed to secure one further point from Shaun McGuire just before the half time whistle.

Tables turned for the third quarter of the game with Cloughaneely dominating around midfield.
