MOVILLE AND GREENCASTLE maintained their perfect starts to the Inishowen Engineering Division Two campaign with away wins over Carn and Dunree yesterday.

Illies Reserves 3 Cockhill Reserves 0

ILLIES won the bragging rights in this local derby with a comprehensive three nil win over a Cockhill side who failed to have a shot on target.

It was an even game until the home side took the lead midway through the half when Joe McDaid headed a corner back across goal for Seamus O’Donnell to slam the ball past Liam Lynch.

They went close again on the stroke of half time when Adrian Donaghey Doherty fired inches wide.

But minutes after the restart they doubled their lead when Henry McDaid released Donaghey Doherty and he slotted home.

They sealed the points on 77 minutes after a Stephen McGonagle cross was controlled by Donaghey Doherty who calmly slotted past Lynch.

Carn Reserves 0 Moville Reserves 3

THIS was a good open and entertaining game with the visitors more clinical in the end.

Moville started well and Graeme Doherty heading over before Kevin McDermott send Norbert Indyka clear but his effort was blocked by the legs of Fergal Bradley.

Carn replied and had good chances when firstly Cade Cooke fired wide when well placed after good work by his brother Dayton and then Conor Doherty beat a defender and slotted just past the post from the edge of the area.

Lee Mclaughlin then played a one two with Cooke but was denied by a tremendous tackle from Graeme Doherty.

Just before the break Moville opened the scoring when Indyka reacted first to a ball over the top to race clear and a lot low past Bradley.

Carn started the second period well and Dayton Cooke found Michael McDermott on the right but his low cross was just missed by Dillon Cooke sliding in at the back post.

Moville increased their lead midway through the half when McDermott found Indyka inside the area and he fired low to the corner from 12 yards. Substitute Ryan McColgan then beat the offside trap to run clear and finish well past Bradley on 81 minutes.

Dunree Reserves 0 Greencastle Reserves 2

THERE was an even opening until the 20th minute when Pauric Doherty parried the ball to Owen Cuffe and with the goal gaping he somehow fired wide.

The visitors responded and took the lead on 35 minutes after a corner fell to Tom Heuston twenty five yards out and he fired high past Simon Taylor for a splendid goal.

Daniel Rowan added a second on 41 minutes when he beat the offside trap and raced clear to slot home.

Dunree replied on the hour when jerry Farrell had an effort well saved by Doherty.

At the other end Rowan got clear but Taylor saved well. The final chance fell to the home side when Joe Carlin fired straight at Doherty from fifteen yards.

Carrowmena Reserves 4 Rasheney Reserves 4

RASHENEY got off to a dream start in the third minute when the unmarked Jack McLaughlin slotted home from 10 yards.

Carrowmena levelled on 9 minutes after Gerard Gill cut in from the left and unleashed a thunderbolt from thirty yards to the top corner.

Six minutes later the home side took the lead after Mark Doherty’s cross found Dempsey Holliwell and he converted the rebound after Rodger McGilloway had blocked his first effort.

It got better for the home side on 28 minutes when Doherty crossed again and Samuel Bredein converted at the second attempt after first being denied by McGilloway.

Rasheney got back into the contest before the break when the unmarked Johnathan Toland slotted home from a corner.

Rasheney got back on terms on 56 minutes when a Toland cross found John Doherty who headed home from eight yards.

The home side responded and regained the lead when Darragh Kelly fired a brilliant thirty yards effort to the top corner.

It looked to have been the winner but on the stroke of full time Corny McCole fired a stunning twenty five yards free to the top corner to earn a point.

Culdaff Reserves 0 Gleneely Colts 4

THE home side had the first threat when an Aiden Cunningham low cross was well smothered by Adrian Duffy.

The more experienced colts gradually got on top with Christopher Smith firing over before Nathan McLaughlin shot wide when well placed.

Culdaff replied and a superb run and cross from Stephen Gray went abegging. The Colts upped the tempo and when Cory O’Brien burst into the area he dragged his effort across goal and wide.

They made the breakthrough on 40 minutes when Joe McLaughlin pounded on a loose ball to dink the ball over the diving O’Donnell and into the net.

They made it two nil on the stroke of half time when O’Brien fired low to the far corner from fifteen yards.

Gleneely had the first chances of the second half when Nathan McLaughlin had an effort blocked before Joe McLaughlin saw an effort well saved by O’Donnell.

Culdaff were unlucky midway through the half when a Gary Smyth effort came back off the post to Martin McGrenaghan who fired over.

Joe O’Connor then had a header saved while at the other end a Drew Crumlish free was well held by O’Donnell.

Stephen Gray then went close for the home wide with a free kick which was narrowly wide. Gleneely ended the game the stronger with Nathan McLaughlin scoring twice in the closing minutes to make it four.

Aileach Reserves 2 Glengad Reserves 4

IN the opening exchanges Paul McDermott saw an effort crash off the bar for the visitors while at the other end Brendan Hegarty shot straight at Michael McLaughlin when well placed.

Glengad took the lead on the stroke of half time when McDermott converted from close range.

Aileach had the first chance of the second period when Daigheid Grant saw his effort tipped over by McLaughlin.

The visitors then doubled their lead on 55 minutes after good work by PJ McDaid set up McDermott to slot home his second.

Derek Gallagher reduced the deficit with a good effort from just inside the area but within minutes McDaid crossed for Patrick McDermott to fire home from ten yards.

The home side again rallied and Sean McKay found space inside the area to slot home from twelve yards.

With the home side pushing they were caught on the break and Patrick McDermott sealed the points with a low effort.

Redcastle Reserves 1 Buncrana Hearts Reserves 0

AFTER an even opening the visitors spurned a gilt edged chance after

Christopher McKinley was upended in the area but Lee Sean Doherty’s spot kick was superbly saved by Ryan McCole in the home goal.

Redcastle replied and a James Breslin strike from distance was well saved by Ryan O’Sullivan. The home side took the lead on the stroke of half-time when Cathal Crumlish found Evan Craig and he slotted low past O’Sullivan from 14 yards.

Redcastle were on top in the second period with a Crumlish strike from the edge of the area well saved by O’Sullivan on 55 minutes.

Ryan Dufy then delivered a free kick which found Breslin but his effort was blocked on the line and cleared by the visitors defence.

The home side continued to press and on 86 minutes Mark Doherty released Craig but his effort went narrowly over the bar.
