THREE OF THE semi-finalists in the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Under-21 ‘B’ Championship are now known, while one quarter-final will have to be replayed.

Bundoran and Letterkenny Gaels overcame Burt and Gaeil Fhánada yesterday respectively to move into the semi-finals.

While Naomh Colmcille and Na Rossa will do battle again after a draw, Killybegs were given a passage into the semis as Urris couldn’t field.

Naomh Colmcille 3-12 Na Rossa 2-15

NAOMH COLMCILLE and Na Rossa will have to do it all over again after extra-time even failed to separate them in this pulsating quarter-final in Convoy on Saturday.

Na Rossa had to come from seven points down to battle a draw to take the game to another day.

Declan Bonner’s side had five points by Odhrán Molloy and a brace of goals from Conor McCahill, one in each half, to thank.

Naomh Colmcille will feel that they should have seen this one out, though. Michael Lynch proved a real handful when he went to full-forward. Lynch bagged a hat-trick and ended the day with 3-3 after a deadly display.

Scorers – Naomh Colmcille: Michael Lynch 3-3, Daniel Clarke 0-4, Oran Hilley, Philip Doran, Peter Scott, Kevin Gallagher, Conor Grant 0-1 each.

Na Rossa: Conor McCahill 2-1, Odhrán Molloy 0-5, Sean McMonagle 0-3, Jamie McCready, Christian Bonner, Gerard Breslin 0-2 each.

Bundoran 1-10 Burt 0-11

JAMIE BRENNAN scored five late points as Bundoran advanced to the Under-21 B semi-finals after overcoming Burt in a tight quarter-final tie.

Brennan’s points – he scored seven in all – were the decisive moments in a game that could have swung either way.

A goal by Cian McEniff after 24 minutes had Bundoran 1-4 to 0-3 ahead at half-time, but Burt – who saw Conor Harkin clip four points – were back level by the 40th minute.

Burt led 0-11 to 1-5 with seven minutes remaining, but in that time Brennan swung over five deadly points to put the Stars of the Sea into the last four.

Scorers – Bundoran: Jamie Brennan 0-7, Cian McEniff 1-0, Niall Carr 0-2, Cody Granaghan 0-1.

Burt: Conor Harkin 0-4, Mark Coyle, Ruairi Bradley 0-3 each, Mark McElhinney 0-1.

Letterkenny Gaels 3-9 Gaeil Fhánada 1-13

LETTERKENNY GAELS held on against a dogged and determined Gaeil Fhánada at O’Donnell Park on Saturday to make it into the semi-finals of the Under-21 ‘B’ Championship.

Tristan Ferris’ goal for Letterkenny Gaels on 16 minutes cemented a good start by the Gaels, but when Oisin Shiels struck gold on 27 minutes the tide had turned and Gaeil Fhánada led 1-5 to 1-3.

Niall Carr (2), Eoghan Carr (2) and Oisin McFadden had all been on the mark for the Portsalon residents.

However, just before half-time, Joe Friel rattled the net from a penalty and Letterkenny Gaels had a 2-3 to 1-5 interval lead.

Points were traded at the outset of the second half and the pick of the lot was a brilliant solo point by Paddy Carr, after a 50-metre run.

Anthony Diver palmed home a third Letterkenny Gaels goal and when Shane Graham pointed, there were six between them.

Gaeil Fhánada rallied and did reduce the arrears to two points, but Letterkenny Gaels had done enough.

Gaeil Fhánada have, with the exception of Noel Dougherty, this entire panel at their disposal next year again.

Scorers – Letterkenny Gaels: Tristan Ferris, Joe Friel, Anthony Diver, 1-0 each, Cormac Cannon 0-4, Shane Graham 0-3, Donal O’Malley, Shay Doherty 0-1 each.

Gaeil Fhánada: Niall Carr 0-5, Oisin Shiels 1-0, Eoghan Carr 0-3, Oisin McFadden, Odhrán Shiels 0-2 each, Paddy Carr 0-1.
