Milford presented with Division 2 trophy following win over Malin

FOUR SECOND HALF goals put the cherry on top for Milford, as they were presented with the AllSportStore.com All-County Football League Division 2 trophy.

The side managed by Danny O’Donnell had sealed their promotion last month with a win in Glenfin and the title was assured since last Sunday, when the last of their chasers, Four Masters, were beaten at MacCumhaill’s.

Yesterday evening at Moyle View Park, Malin, who still have promotion hopes of their own, where the visitors. Milford were 0-8 to 0-7 in front at the break, but second half goals from Cathal McGettigan (2), Kane Barrett and Darragh Black sealed a 4-11 to 1-13 win.

It’s been a rapid rise for Milford, who were a Division 4 side as recently as 2013 – the same year they won the Junior A Football Championship. This coming Saturday, Milford face Naomh Bríd in the quarter-finals of the Intermediate Football Championship.
