MOVILLE SEALED THE AllSportStore.com All-County Football League Division 4 title with a win at Na Rossa this evening in Dooey courtesy of Danny Murphy’s late point.

Na Rossa 0-16 Moville 3-8

Christy Hegarty, a Nigel McMonagle penalty and Murphy were the goalscorers for the Inishowen side.

The home team, who are managed by Barry Doherty, went into the contest two points behind their guests and needing a seven-point win to overcome Moville at the top of the table on the head-to-head.

Hegarty punched home for Moville following a pass from Tony McClenaghan and then Daryl Devenney’s tug on Michael Barrett saw Moville awarded a penalty. McMonagle shot past Patrick Hanlon and Moville were 2-4 to 0-7 up at half-time, with the home side indebted to the kicking abilities of John Paul McCready, who would score 0-8 in all – 0-5 from frees.

Na Rossa had the wind and the local knowledge of course in the second half. However, a third Moville goal on 37 minutes from Murphy, when he raced into space, gave his side a cushion.

With their backs against the wall, Na Rossa came out fighting. McCready pointed three and Christian Bonner was also on the mark to cut the Moville lead to 3-6 to 0-11.

The gap was once again trimmed back to two courtesy of Bonner and another McCready free. Back came Moville through the impressive Murphy to put three between the sides with 10 minutes of normal time to go.
