SINEAD JENNINGS just keeps on giving – the remarkable 39-year-old Olympic finalist won the women’s half marathon at the 2016 Donegal Marathon this morning.

Jennings finished in 1 hour, 23 minutes and 40 seconds to claim the win on a day when her sister, Caitriona – a 2012 Olympian – won the women’s marathon in a course record 2:53:14.

The Hawthorn Heights sisters took the unique double around the streets of Letterkenny.

Just nine days ago, rower Sinead took part in the women’s lightweight double sculls final in Rio, finishing sixth alongside her partner Claire Lambe.

In the men’s events, Pauric Breslin of Letterkenny AC won the half marathon in 1:15:23.

The men’s marathon was won by Rosses AC’s Ciaran McMonagle in 2:41:15, while Conor Robinson (2:51:51) and Chrisopher Deane (3:02:58) were second and third.
