CONGRATULATIONS to Brian Gillespie of Naomh Muire, the winner of this week’s Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week.

Gillespie picked up 223 of the 925 votes to win the award, ahead of Brendan McLaughlin from Malin, who got 180, while Gaoth Dobhair’s Kevin Cassidy got 155.

NAOMH MUIRE came within a whisker of the last eight last season and this year, a fine 3-7 to 0-11 at Glenfin has certainly set them off on the right path. Three goals were ultimately pivotal in the win for the side managed by Eamon O’Boyle, but so too was the form of Brian Gillespie at full-back. The tough-tackling defender led by example for the Lower Rosses side.
