BARRY MOLLOY WAS in the blue corner for tonight’s north-west derby when he was so familiar at being in the red corner for so long.

However, whilst in the colours of Finn Harps tonight, Molloy played his part in a 2-2 draw against his former employers and hometown club Derry City.

“It was strange, it’s always strange coming here as proposition but once you cross that white line you get into match mode then,” he said.

Harps went 1-0 up through a goal from Ryan Curran but then were on the back foot for long spells and two goals in the final seven minutes – through Josh Daniels and Rory Patterson – looked to have won it. However, Sean Houston made it 2-2 in injury time.

“Derry were stretching us and were hurting us. We had Ciaran Gallagher to thank for a few saves. When Josh scored Derry had the momentum and then Rory scored too but fair play to the lads – a great header from Sean to draw it. The boys said last year they wanted to get promoted to play in these sort of games.”
